Njini Network File Control
Njini’s Network File Control solution enables organizations to identify
and capture the business value of information assets and unstructured data files
at their point of origin and employ real-time data management policies, to ensure
the alignment of information with the business. By identifying and capturing
business value and applying real-time data management policies, Njini is able
to determine: -
- How important the information and data is to the business
- What storage tier or platform information and data should be placed upon
- What type of information and data should be stored and what shouldn’t
- Who should be able to access it, change it or delete it and when
- How many copies should be held and on which storage tiers or platforms
- How long it should be held before being moved to another storage tier or
archive
Key to Njini’s unique value proposition is that these centralized and
automated information and data management policies operate transparently to the
user, thus enabling Njini to simplify the storage management of information assets
and unstructured data dramatically.
With Njini, organizations are able to optimize the use of valuable storage
resources, address information security risks and meet the ever changing compliance
requirements associated with managing information in today’s demanding
environments.
Njini’s Network File Control protects your legacy investments by operating
transparently, across existing file servers, storage devices and network infrastructure
and transforms the existing LAN infrastructure into a File Area Network (FAN)
Network File Control
enables your organization to implement a rich set of business orientated policies
and file services – dramatically improving Storage Optimization,
Information Security and Data Management.
Njini Policy Engine
Njini uses real-time policy execution to automatically identify information and
unstructured data files (both textual and bitmapped) at their point of origin
to capture their business value and manage objects as their value changes throughout
their lifecycle.
The Njini Engine interrogates each file at its point of origin
then encapsulates the business value of the file within its meta-data database
such that it is able to determine: -
- What kind of file is it?
- Who created it?
- What user group are they in?
- What key words does it contain?
Njini’s NFC then uses what it knows about the file (the content derived
extensible meta-data) and the user profile (who has access to the file) to apply
a set of real-time, centralised data management policies to each new file as
it is created, allowing organizations to truly identify, capture and utilize
the inherent business value in each new piece of information and data as it is
created. |
