Virgin Mobile reduces their overall storage requirements by 24 percent
Virgin Mobile has 500 users on their network attached storage and was looking
at implementing tiered storage in readiness for ILM. They were also looking for
a solution that automatically moved files across tiers of storage transparently
to the user. However, despite the market hype surrounding ILM they couldn’t
find a solution that worked, until that is, they discovered Njini.
Following a successful data classification and reporting process,
Virgin Mobile became aware that they were wasting a significant amount of storage
due to the unnecessary duplication of user files. Following the deployment of
the Njini IAM Suite, Virgin Mobile has reduced their overall storage requirement
by 24 percent. This has enabled them to re-direct infrastructure spend to other
areas of the business in order to optimize their customers experience. |
